This decision comes as COVID-19 infections have been increasing since July

hospitalizations and fatalities have seen an uptick, they still remain significantly lower than previous peaks

How can I obtain these free COVID-19 tests?

you can request free tests beginning on Monday through the www.covid.gov/tests webpage

Under this program, individuals can ask for four complimentary tests to be delivered via the United States Postal Service.

The Biden administration initiated this program in January 2022,

initially purchasing 500 million home tests to be sent to households, enabling individuals to self-test without the need for a laboratory

According to information provided by the program, the COVIDtests.gov program has distributed over 755 million tests directly to more than two-thirds of American households

When should I use these tests? The CDC advises that you should use an at-home test:

– If you begin experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, such as fever, sore throat, runny nose, or loss of taste or smell.

– At least 5 days after close contact with someone who has COVID-19.

Before gathering with a group of people, particularly those at risk of severe disease or individuals who may not be up to date with their COVID-19 vaccinations."
